Unlocking creativity and innovation are key to delivering safe, sustainable solutions. Working across multiple disciplines, our engineering team collaborate with our clients and supply chain partners to lead the way in the UK Water Industry and be at the forefront of technical advances; both digital and treatment technologies. As part of our design teams, the engineering disciplines (process, civil, mechanical, electrical controls and digital) always help to shape a better world and deliver on complex projects. With constant innovation and collaboration our engineering department position us at the forefront of the sector.

“I create the process designs, which underpin the safe construction and sustainable operation, of critical UK water and waste-water recycling infrastructure – now that’s a job with a big impact”

Victoria Elewa, Senior Design Engineer

Victoria’s Story

I am a Chartered Chemical Engineer with experience in process and hydraulics design of water and wastewater recycling treatment works. I decided to join MWH Treatment to build a career in an industry where my contributions will have an impact on my immediate and wider community. I work alongside other brilliant discipline engineers to deliver new and refurbished water and wastewater treatment works.

As part of the team developing the process design to address the quality requirement for treatment works, I create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), develop control philosophies and produce hydraulic design profiles all to aid further mechanical, civil and structural designs that are inherently safe to construct and operate.

Using laser scans of existing works and the very latest digital design tools I create designs that actually make a difference. The diverse challenges that every project brings means that I get to do plenty of creative problem solving, which is one of my favourite activities. As I look to the future industry challenges, I would like to be part of the team, which creates a low cost water reuse solution.
